Media Princess: One Year Later

I was in bed about to watch "Rick and Morty" with sparkling cider (like the party animal I am) when I realized TODAY IS THE ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF MY BLOG!!! AHHHHH!!!! So I obviously had to say something, especially with us on the horizon of a brand new year.

When I made this blog, I was looking for a place for me to truly be myself. I have never felt comfortable to be 100% me face-to-face with people I don't know well, so writing was the perfect way for me to truly broadcast who I am and what I felt to the world. Little did I know that it would provide me with so many opportunities and ways to reach out to others. My writing ended up getting published in multiple publications around Texas. I was able to find people who related to what I was talking about and made new friends. However, the most important way that "Media Princess" served me was by being my greatest tool with dealing with this year.

This year was the worst year of my life. No exaggeration. I had some incredible moments with my friends and family that made the year seem a little bit brighter. But WOW THIS YEAR REAL LIFE BEAT ME UP MENTALLY, EMOTIONALLY, SPIRITUALLY, EVEN PHYSICALLY. My anxiety and depression were at an all-time high. I didn't know who I was anymore. However, I had a support system that I thank God for every day. I want to thank my friends and family for staying by my side while I lost and found myself again. They were the people that gave me the advice that helped me continue and that I displayed on my blog this year. They helped me learn the lessons I needed to be a stronger woman than I was in 2016. I don't know what I would do without them. Writing those posts truly helped me heal. And I hope it helped others in the same way.

I am SO excited for what this year holds and all of the things that I have planned for this blog. This year has been full of trials and tribulations, but I would not change it for the world. Thank you to everyone who follows and reads my blog -- y'all mean more to me than y'all will ever know. See ya next year.

Peace Out Girl Scout,

Maddie the Media Princess
